P3 Class Book
If I Could Be An Animal…
After Christmas, we asked some of our P3 learners to make a class book.
Each child was asked which animal they would be, whom they would be friends with, and what they would do together.
We ended up with four dogs, three kangaroos, three cats, three rabbits, a giraffe, a fox, a bird, a crocodile, a lizard, a tiger, a snake, a reindeer, a mouse, a dragon and a dinosaur. Oh… and one pig that didn’t want to go to school.
The students were told in advance that when the book was finished, each child would take it home to show his/her family for one night. This helped them to learn the most important aspect of writing: THINKING OF THE READER.
This project turned out to be a worthwhile experience: the children saw their work ‘published’ and parents and teachers get to see some interesting, entertaining and above all imaginative work from Ho Yu learners.
